NAME

splitIntoNSegments - Split model, motive list, and rot axes into segments.

SYNOPSIS

splitIntoNSegments nSegments modelName motiveListName
splitIntoNSegments nSegments modelName motiveListName rotAxesName

DESCRIPTION

Split an input model, a motive list, and, optionally, a rot axes file into nSegments equally-sized segments. When necessary, an additional segment will contain any leftover points. Output files will be written to subdirectories segment1, segment2, etc. of the current directory, and will be named the same as the input files. This can be useful for linear objects (tubes, filaments, etc.) containing equally-spaced and consecutively numbered points when alignment and averaging of individual segments are desired to characterize variation along the structure.
nSegments = int
The number of equally-size segments desired.
modelName = string
The filename or path to the input model. Typically, this should be a file in the current directory, although this is not required.
motiveListName = string
The filename or path to the input motive list. Typically this should be a file in the current directory, although this is not required.
rotAxesName = optional string (default = '')
The filename or path to an input rot axes file. Typically this should be a file in the current directory, although this is not required.
